
Thuravoor (Alappuzha): A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) has been nabbed for driving an official vehicle while intoxicated. Thiruvananthapuram District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) DySP Anilkumar was nabbed by a police team led by Aroor Sub Inspector (SI) Geethumol.
The incident occurred on Sunday night on the national highway in Chandiroor. Locals alerted the police after noticing the official vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. Upon stopping the vehicle, the police questioned the driver and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. Anilkumar told the police that he had been to Ernakulam for official work and was returning to Thiruvananthapuram.

The officers were taken aback when he identified himself as a DySP. Before they could take further action, he abruptly got back into the vehicle and drove away. However, the police team quickly chased him and managed to take both him and the car into custody.
He was later taken to Thuravoor Government Hospital for a medical examination. Meanwhile, the Aroor police have remained tight-lipped about the incident, refusing to disclose whether a case has been registered.
