Kochi: AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar has declared that no members will be blocked from quitting Congress and joining the ruling party. Addressing the media here on Saturday, the Congress leader informed that he will examine Sudheeran’s resignation from KPCC political affairs committee. He added that he will hold talks with Sudheeran.
The AICC general secretary who is in charge of Kerala arrived here to review the current situation and hold talks with the state leadership.
“ If someone is planning to quit the party, how could we block them?. It is impossible. Some members are no more interested to be a part of an opposition party. Hence, they will definitely try to join the ruling party. So, some people left Congress and joined the ruling party. It is not a big deal,” he asserted.
Tariq Anwar’s remark made headlines amidst the mass resignation in Congress ahead of the KPCC reorganisation. Though he claimed that no members would be blocked from quitting Congress, he refused to respond to the mass resignations.
“ I wish to ensure the cooperation of senior leaders in Kerala. But we can't force somebody for a mutual corporation, “ added Tariq Anwar.
