Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday extended Vishu greetings to everyone, emphasizing its focus on empowering farmers and agricultural practices. He highlighted the festival's significance in fostering unity and setting it apart from others.

Vijayan cautioned against regressive forces attempting to divide the country along communal lines, stressing the need for vigilance to address this challenge. He stated, "Vishu celebrations serve as a catalyst for promoting fraternity and equality."

He noted that this year's Vishu signifies reclaiming agricultural heritage and strengthening communal bonds, promoting equality regardless of caste or religion.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer, and Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan also conveyed Vishu greeting to the citizens.

Vishu, Kerala's harvest festival, symbolizes prosperity and marks the Malayalam New Year. Celebrated with rituals, feasts, and new clothes, it signifies togetherness, care, and respect for farming, embodying noble values.
