
Idukki: An explosion occurred in a generator at Moolamattom power station on Friday. No casuality was reported in the incident which took place around 6.30 pm on Friday.
The minor blast was reported from the auxiliary system of the 4th generator. Following this, the power generation was temporarily stopped at Moolamattom. With this, KSEB imposed load shedding on a limited scale.
Power generation in Idukki power station has been temporarily suspended due to technical fault in the No:4 machine. Hence, power restriction will come into force in many places across the state, informed KSEB.
KSEB also informed that efforts are being taken to resume power generation by resolving the issue.
The board has also initiated action to purchase more power from other states.
