CM V D Satheesan announces plans to revamp the NPS pension system and promises regular DA/DR updates for state employees.

Thiruvananthapuram: Pointing out ambiguities in the "Assured Pension Scheme" announced by the previous government, Chief Minister V D Satheesan, who also holds the finance portfolio, announced that a comprehensive review will be conducted to revamp the existing National Pension System (NPS) for state employees.
DA and DR timely distribution
In a major relief to government employees and pensioners amid the state's fiscal challenges, the Chief Minister assured that Dearness Allowance (DA) for active staff and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners will be distributed without any disruption.
He also stated that an appropriate decision regarding the reinstatement of the leave surrender benefit would be taken soon.
Furthermore, the government plans to completely overhaul MEDISEP, the flagship health insurance scheme for state employees and pensioners, to make it more efficient and user-friendly.
