Kochi: The Kerala team for the National Badminton Championship is stranded at Ernakulam railway station due to issues with their train tickets. A group of 23 people, including junior and senior players, as well as the coach and manager, are facing a travel crisis because their tickets have not been confirmed.
The team was scheduled to travel to Narmadapuram in Madhya Pradesh for the National Badminton Championship, which is set to begin on November 17.
They were supposed to board the Mangala Lakshadweep SF Express, scheduled to depart from Ernakulam at 1:30 pm on Thursday. However, at 1:30 pm, they were informed that only two of the 23 tickets had been confirmed.
It is alleged that the authorities failed to notify the players or their parents about the ticket issue in advance.
Meanwhile, parents have claimed that they tried to reach out to both the sports and education departments for clarification, but received no response.
Players are still waiting at the station, unable to board the train.
