
Kochi: The Kerala High Court ordered to immediately remove the illegal hoardings from highways, public places and footpaths. The court directed the police to help the local government institutions and the National Highway Authority to remove the hoardings.
The officials are asked to file a report to the chief secretary of the road safety authority after identifying the illegal boards which pose threat to the passengers. Nails hammered on trees to place hoardings should also be removed, ordered the court.
The court has issued the order while considering the petitions seeking to remove the illegal hoardings. A division bench including Chief Justice S Mani Kumar and justice P Chaly issued the order. The HC order should be implemented within three months.
