Marayoor: The Marayoor sandalwood e-tender went on sale for the last two days and it recorded the biggest sale ever since. Among the 105 tonnes of sandalwood set aside for e-tender, 50.62 tonnes have already sold out. Including tax, the public sector enterprise Karnataka Soaps and Detergent company bought Rs 41.28 crores worth sandals.

The Jai Pogal sandals of class 10 alone was sold for Rs 17.77 crores. It fetched Rs 13,674 per kilogram. 

Vilayath Budh sandals of class I had procured the highest price in the sale, which was Rs 19,202 per kilogram.
