Kozhikode: In a development to the Kathua fund misappropriation case involving Muslim Youth League (MYL) national general secretary CK Subair and state general secretary PK Firoz, the court has issued an arrest warrant to youth league leaders for not appearing in court.
VP Abdussatar, Judicial first class magistrate, Kunnamangalam issued a non-bailable warrant on the youth leaders as they failed to appear before the court for the second time. During the previous hearing in February, an application for leave was submitted through their lawyer. The court will hear the case again on July 10.
The case pertains to the allegation that crores of rupees were misappropriated from the funds collected by the Youth League’s national committee to aid the families of the victims of Kathua-Unnao cases. The complaint was lodged by then Youth League’s national committee member Yusuf Padanilam.
The Kunnamangalam Police, who carried out the investigation had stated that the case was fabricated and a false complaint was filed against the leaders over political rivalry.
