Trikaripur (Kasaragod): The Kasaragod District Panchayat is launching a new initiative called 'Akshaya Matrimony' to help youngsters find brides and grooms without the hassle of middlemen or expensive matrimonial websites. This service aims to assist those who may be struggling to find a partner, especially economically disadvantaged youth.
The 'Akshaya Matrimony' portal will be available through the Akshaya centre in the district. The District Panchayat is currently reviewing the detailed plan for the project. The project is being funded with an initial funding of Rs 15 lakh for the first year, and it is planned to be expanded to other districts in the future.

Special camps to be organised
In a second phase of the initiative, special camps will be organised to support daily wage earners and those with lower educational qualifications who are having difficulty finding partners. These camps will work with local leaders and institutions to bring in women from nearby areas, including Karnataka and Coorg, to meet the marriage needs of local men. Registration at these camps will be free, and assistance with wedding planning will also be provided.
