Bengaluru: Karnataka RTC (KSRTC) is extending strong support to Malayalis travelling home for Onam from Bengaluru by operating 90 special bus services to various parts of Kerala from September 2 to 4. The special services will run from Bengaluru to Kannur, Kasaragod, Munnar, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram.

Return services from these Kerala locations back to Bengaluru are scheduled for September 7 after the Onam celebrations.

In addition to these, special buses will also operate from Bengaluru to Puttaparthi, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kodaikanal and Puducherry.

Bus categories include Rajahamsa Executive, Non-AC Sleeper, Airavat Club Class, Ambaari Utsav, Ambaari Dream Class, AC Sleeper and Karnataka Sarige services. These special services are in addition to KSRTC's existing scheduled buses.

Ticket booking has already commenced and online reservations are available.

  • A 5% discount is offered for group bookings of four or more passengers.
  • A 10% discount is available on return tickets if both onward and return journeys are booked together, according to the Chief Traffic Manager.
