Malappuram: In connection with the tragic death of a seventeen-year-old girl in Chaliyar River here, her Karate master Sidhique Ali has been arrested.

The girl’s family had levelled sexual assault charges against Sidhique Ali, who was arrested earlier also in another POCSO case.

The girl, hailing from Edavannappara, was found dead in the Chaliyar River. The police filed a case against Sidhique after the victim’s family alleged that he had been sexually abusing their child. 

The girl had lodged a complaint with the Child Welfare Committee when she was studying in tenth standard. However, it was learnt that she could not give statements in this regard as she was suffering from mental stress.
