
Thiruvananthapuram: The manager of Axis Bank Karamana branch has been suspended for his alleged link with the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling gang.
The bank manager identified as Parassala native Sheshadri Iyer is under the probe limit of both gold smuggling case and Life Mission scam.
Earlier, the probe team had found out that the bank manager had close connection with gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh. Both Swapna Suresh and UAE Consulate have accounts with this bank.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Customs and Vigilance had found that many irregularities had taken place focusing on these bank accounts.
The probe agencies had interrogated Sheshadri Iyer many times in connection with the cases. Following this, the bank authorities decided to suspend him.
