Kannur: The post mortem report of Nihal Naushad (11), an autistic boy who was killed in a stray dog attack on Sunday, has emerged. According to the report, a deep cut on a nerve in the child’s neck led to the death.
Nihal, who hailed from Kettinakam region of Muzhappilangad in Kannur, was fatally injured in the dog attack and lost his life on Sunday. He was brutally wounded by multiple stray dogs, stated the report. The post mortem procedures were completed in one-and-half hours.
Nihal, who faced speech-related issues, went missing from his house around 5 pm on Sunday and was later found dead 500 metres away. The body was found near the gate of a deserted house in the locality by locals after a search.
Meanwhile, a protest march led by housewives will be launched to the Muzhappilangad panchayat office on Tuesday. “We are afraid to go outside alone. Parents are the ones who take their kids to school. This (straydog) issue must be resolved,” housewives said.
Further, the Human Rights Commission has registered a suo moto case into the incident. The Muzhappilangad panchayat secretary has also been directed to submit a detailed report over the incident within 15 days.
