Malayalam film actor and production controller Kannan Pattambi, 62, died at his residence in Njangattiri, Palakkad, on Sunday night, triggering condolences from the film fraternity.

The funeral will be held at 4 pm on Monday at his home plot.

Kannan was the son of Kutti Shankaran and Sathyabhama. He was the younger brother of filmmaker Major Ravi.

Kannan acted in several Malayalam films, including Pulimurugan, Punaradhivasam, Ananthabhadram, Odiyan, Keerthi Chakra, Vettam, Crazy Gopalan, Kandahar, Tantra and 12th Man. His yet-to-be-released film Rachel is also part of his filmography.

Beyond acting, he worked as a production controller for films directed by Major Ravi, Shaji Kailas, V K Prakash, Santhosh Sivan, K J Bose and Anil Medayil, among others.

The FEFFKA Directors’ Union expressed condolences over Kannan Pattambi’s death, acknowledging his contributions to the Malayalam film industry.
