Kottayam: K Surendran, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president, announced that the BJP is gaining widespread acceptance among religious minorities in Kerala. He claimed around 80 people from influential families in Kottayam joined the BJP recently. Surendran said that there are more people expected to join the party in Pathanamthitta today. He expressed confidence that the BJP's popularity will surge after the upcoming visit of the prime minister to Kerala.
A list of individuals has been prepared who will be invited to join the BJP during the prime minister's visit. Surendran extended an invitation to those who are concerned about the future of Kerala to join the BJP.

Surendran called on the state government to take action in favour of rubber farmers by addressing the issue of fluctuating rubber prices. He blamed the state government for neglecting the welfare of rubber farmers. Surendran urged the state government to implement the promises made in the manifesto and provide clarity on the issue of setting rubber prices at Rs 300 per kg.
Furthermore, Surendran criticised the state government for the recent hike in milk prices, stating that it would disproportionately impact the poor. He argued that the current price increase does not benefit dairy farmers and is not aligned with the farmers' interests.
