Kochi: The frequent server outages of the K-Smart app are causing headaches for construction builders.

Builders had earlier complained that the documents required for applying for building permits could not be uploaded on time due to K-Smart server outages. Along with this, there were also frequent logouts from the profile.

This issue was reported by Mathrubhumi on 5 June 2025. However, the explanation from the authorities was that they had not noticed any problem with the server. Even after receiving the complaint, the server issue remains unresolved, causing delays of several days in uploading files. Many complaints have been raised in the chat box, the complaint resolution system within the K-Smart app itself.

An engineer complained that he did not receive a proper response despite raising the issue. The only reply he received was that the problem had been reported to the software team.

Eventually, he tried calling the phone numbers provided in the chat box one by one. The responses he received indicated that the server issue had been escalated to superiors and that sometimes the service functioned without interruption, other times, it did not.

Construction builders using the website are now demanding that those handling complaints related to technical issues, including server failures, should have the necessary technical expertise, and that such service interruptions must be prevented.
