New Delhi: Senior Judge of Bombay High Court Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar will become Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. The collegium also recommended the elevation of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice N K Singh and Madras High Court Acting Chief Justice R Mahadevan as Supreme Court judges. 

Justice N K Singh is a native of Manipur. 

Justice Nitin Jamdar is the seniormost judge in the Bombay High Court after the Chief Justice. He was appointed as judge of the Bombay High Court on January 23, 2012. Before that, he was the Senior Standing Counsel of the Central Government.

A native of Sholapur, Justice Nitin Jamdar has also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. He will retire on January 9, 2026 if he is not elevated as a Supreme Court judge. If the collegium recommendation is accepted, Singh will be the first Supreme Court judge from Manipur.
