Thiruvananthapuram: Janata Dal (Secular) has decided to move forward with merger talks with Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) led by M. P. Veerendra Kumar MP.

A state committee meeting of JDS took the decision. The meeting also appointed C. K. Nanu, K. Krishnankutty, Mathew T. Thomas and Neelalohithadasan Nadar to hold discussions in this regard.

Speaking to media after the meeting, JDS Kerala president C. K. Nanu said that LJD was merging into JDS. “That’s the agreement we have reached. The two parties will merge and continue as JDS. Only preliminary discussions have been held,” Nanu added.
