Thiruvananthapuram: Sections apparently from CPM leader E P Jayarajan's forthcoming autobiography were leaked from DC Books, according to a police report. The content was allegedly leaked by the head of DC's publications division, Sreekumar. The Kottayam SP has submitted the investigation report to the DGP stating the same. However, the report states that the police cannot directly register a case in this matter.

On the day of the election, excerpts cited to be that from Jayarajan’s autobiography were circulated, prompting the senior CPM leader to file a complaint with the DGP, seeking an inquiry into the alleged conspiracy. Based on his complaint, the DGP assigned the Kottayam SP to investigate the matter. An initial report was submitted by the SP. However, the same was returned by the DGP, seeking further clarification.

The second-phase report, now submitted by the Kottayam SP, concludes that the leaked content indeed originated from DC Books. It is stated that the excerpts were leaked from Sreekumar's email.

Notably, there was no formal agreement between Jayarajan, also the former LDF convener, and DC Books. This raises questions about how the autobiography's content reached DC Books, necessitating further investigation. However, since the issue falls under copyright law, the police cannot directly register a case and investigate, according to the report.
