Kollam: In a major turn of events in the alleged assault on an Army jawan by PFI leaders in Kadakkal, Kerala Police on Tuesday found that the complaint was fake and the soldier had himself fabricated the attack to gain popularity. The police have taken the complainant, Shine Kumar, and his friend Joshi into custody in connection with the incident.
As per reports, the case investigation reached a major turning point after the officers quizzed Joshi, who confessed that Shine Kumar had himself torn off his T-shirt and later made him write ‘PFI’ on his back with green paint. He added that the act was committed to gain fame. Subsequently, the police recovered the paint and brush used for the purpose.
The incident pertaining to the case took place on Sunday night. According to Shine Kumar’s complaint, a group of people forcibly took him away from his house, beat him up, and abandoned him with "PFI" written on his back. Kumar is posted in Rajasthan and this incident happened on the penultimate day of his leave.
Incidentally, the alleged attack took place hours before the Enforcement Directorate began raids at several locations linked to former members of the banned PFI across Kerala.
