Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant reshuffle within the state's IPS leadership, several high-ranking officers have been reassigned to new roles, signalling a fresh change in Kerala's law enforcement hierarchy.
ADGP M R Ajith Kumar has been appointed as the new Excise Commissioner, replacing the previous incumbent. At the same time, DGP Manoj Abraham, who had been overseeing the Fire Force, has been moved to a different role as the Director of Vigilance. This move comes as part of a broader restructuring within the state police force.
In addition to these changes, Yogesh Gupta has been named the new head of the Fire Force, taking over from Abraham. The reshuffle also saw the appointment of Balram Kumar Upadhyay as the new Director of the Police Academy, while Mahipal Yadav was made the Crime ADGP.
These appointments come at a time when Kerala’s police force is undergoing key reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency to reduce crimes in the state.
