Kochi: A four-member panel of the Indian Medical Association led by Dr Roy Abraham Kalluvelil will investigate the death of transgender activist and RJ Anannyah Kumari Alex.

Apart from Dr Roy, two psychiatrists and a plastic surgeon will be part of the inquiry committee.

We are declaring the investigation to address the concerns of the transgender community, IMA Kerala state president Dr PT Zacharias said.

Anannyah was found dead at her flat in Edapally on Tuesday.

Anannyah was suffering from severe physical pain for some time after undergoing a sex reassignment surgery at a private hospital here last year and complained of medical negligence against the doctor who conducted the procedure.
