Elappara: An elderly man was brought to the hospital with severe injuries to his genitals. The victim, identified as Thankappan (70), a resident of Kochukaruntharuvi, was first taken to the Peerumedu Taluk Hospital.

Those accompanying Thankappan said that the injury was caused due to a dog bite. However, as the injury was serious, he was later shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital. According to preliminary reports, the injury may have been inflicted by a weapon.

As Thankappan remained unconscious, the police were not able to record his statement. He also has injuries on his legs.

Vagamon police have launched an investigation.
