Kozhikode: A pastor of a charitable trust in Perumbavoor was arrested by police for bringing 12 minor girls from Rajasthan to Kozhikode without any documents.

Jacob Varghese, director of Karuna Charitable Trust, was taken into custody a day after railway police nabbed two intermediaries behind bringing the minor girls to Kerala. During questioning, the pastor's name was disclosed by the accused. They were charged for human trafficking by the Kozhikode railway police.

The girls were brought to Kerala by Okha Express on Tuesday night. Six adults accompanied the girls. Later, it was revealed that four of them were parents of these girls. The police only filed a case against two individuals, both Rajasthan natives, who accompanied them.
