Kozhikode: A ‘selfie’ found in one of her friend’s phone turned out to be a vital clue that led to the arrest of former SFI leader K Vidya in a document forgery case.

Vidya’s friendship circle was under police radar, all throughout the investigation. While carrying out search operations in the Vadakara region, the cops took notice of a newly activated sim, which was registered in the name of one of Vidya’s close friends. Growing suspicious they checked the individual’s phone, in which they found a selfie of the ‘duo’ which was taken at least 4 days ago. Now that was a major breakthrough. Vidya’s hiding location was revealed in further questioning.

Meanwhile, Vidya who is under police custody now, is said to have denied any wrongdoings on her part. She has vehemently denied all the charges leveled against her. 

Vidya describes the entire incident as an act of ‘conspiracy’; plotted by KSU leaders and Attappady college principal.

The police will soon quiz Vidya and Attappady college principal simultaneously in the case, for gathering conclusive evidence.
