Kollam (Kerala): A shocking incident occurred on Monday morning when hot payasam was spilled onto the head of the Minister for Welfare of Women and Children, Bindu Krishna. The mishap took place at the Kollam KSRTC depot during the district-level inauguration ceremony of the 'Priyadarshini' free bus travel scheme.

According to live reports from ‘Mathrubhumi News’, Youth Congress activists, led by their district president, had arranged to distribute payasam to commuters and dignitaries to celebrate the rollout of the scheme. In the heavy rush, the dessert was being distributed inside the packed inaugural bus when the hot payasam accidentally spilled, landing directly onto the Minister's head.

The sudden incident left Minister Bindu Krishna and everyone around her visibly shocked. In the initial commotion, it remained unclear exactly how the vessel tilted or who was responsible. Those accompanying the Minister acted swiftly, using a shawl and towels to clean her face and head.

Displaying remarkable composure despite the unsettling and painful ordeal, the Minister refused to disrupt the event. She stayed on board the KSRTC bus and travelled on the inaugural service until it reached Chinnakkada before returning.

Local authorities and depot officials are currently examining the incident and analysing video footage to understand exactly how the mishap occurred inside the overcrowded bus. Further details are awaited.
