Munnar: A school girl from Malappuram, who was on a tour to Munnar, was bitten by a horse on Mattupetty road, beside KDHP petrol bunk, on Sunday evening.
A native of Kottakkal, she was studying in class 12. The incident happened while she was enjoying a horse ride. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital. No complaint has been filed so far.
Over 30 horses are stationed at the Munnar-top station to offer rides to tourists. The operations are mostly unauthorised. This often leads to traffic blocks and other accidents on the spot. Police have issued notices to several horse owners asking them to call off their services.
