Kochi: The All Indian Young Lawyers Association has lodged a complaint with the High Court Registrar, urging an immediate investigation into the disappearance of crucial documents relating to the death of SFI student activist Abhimanyu.

The formal complaint was submitted to the registrar overseeing all district courts. Based on the complaint, the High Court has directed authorities to take disciplinary action against those responsible for the loss of documents. The court also ordered an enquiry, setting a deadline for the proceedings.

The complaint also stated that the missing documents, including charge sheet and post-mortem reports from the Ernakulam Sessions Court, is seen as a black mark on the state judiciary, especially when the police investigation was completed in the case in 2018 but court proceedings still pending.
