Kannur: CPM leader MV Jayarajan has dismissed the party's alleged links in providing shelter to the accused in the murder of CPM activist Haridasan. He added that the party does not support those who aid the accused.

Earlier, BJP worker Nijildas (38), was arrested around 2.30 am for the murder of the CPM activist. PM Reshma (42), a teacher at Punnol Amrita Vidyalaya and wife of a CPM activist, gave him shelter at her abandoned house in Pinarayi. Later, she was also arrested by the police. Her husband is working abroad.

Jayarajan said that her husband Prashant is not a CPM activist. He pointed out that he had supported RSS in a row related to a temple festival and was at the forefront of holding strikes against the government during the Covid-19 lockdown.

" The houses constructed in Pinarayi by the party had nothing to do with the house owner's political affiliation. One of the houses was built for Prashant. There is something mysterious about the intention to allow the accused to hide here," he added.

Further, he also rubbished the allegations on the party's role in the bomb attack against the house.
