Kannur: The woman who was arrested for helping the accused in the murder of CPM activist Haridasan obtained bail here on Saturday. The police arrested PM Reshma who works as a teacher for allegedly helping the accused BJP activist Nijil Das to move to a hideout in Kannur.
The court granted conditional bail to Reshma on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and two sureties.
Punnol native Nijil Das (38) was arrested over the murder case in the wee hours of Friday. Following his arrest, police nabbed Reshma for helping the accused to abscond from the police.Police informed that Reshma arranged a shelter for Nijil Das even after knowing his involvement in the murder.
It is reported that Nijil phoned Reshma seeking shelter after Vishu. Nijil was hiding in a house arranged by Reshma from April 17. Reshma and Nijil communicated through WhatsApp. Police arrested Reshma after examining the details in the phone conversation.
Haridasan, a CPM activist was killed on February 28, 2022.
