Thrissur: Lockdown regulations are being made stricter in Thrissur due to the increase in transmissions of disease including health workers. 14 people tested positive for the virus on Friday. Out of this six are health workers. Thrissur was also the district with the most number of COVID transmissions through contact on Friday within the state. However, Minister AC Moideen said there is no communal transmission in the district.

Chavakkad Taluk Hospital has stopped functioning since employees from different sections have tested positive for the virus. Employees of different primary health centres and Asha workers have also tested positive. The district has more than 10 containment zones. Chavakkadu Municipality has been completely shut down. Devotees will not be allowed in Guruvayur temple and Lourdes Church.

The weddings scheduled to take place in Guruvayur temple on Saturday will be conducted.

Online darshan in Guruvayur temple has been stalled. Weddings will not be taking place in the temple after Saturday. Devaswom board informed that these actions were taken as more regulations were necessary.

Three weddings were held on Friday. Weddings have been booked till August 28 in Guruvayur temple. The money will be returned to the concerned parties in the current context. 88 people took darshan at the temple on Friday. The darshan ended by 12.15 pm. Even though the temple was reopened on Tuesday, devotees did not turn up.
