Thiruvananthapuram: Former councillor GS Sreekumar has filed a complaint with the director of vigilance, demanding a detailed investigation into the appointments made to the Regional Cancer Centre, including that of the director. In his complaint, Sreekumar alleged that there was corruption in the contract and Kudumbashree temporary appointments carried out in six years.
He further noted that the extension of the director’s term to two more years was against the law. As per the rule, only a department head or a professor should be considered for the post of director. But this rule was violated, Sreekumar added.
The former councillor also alleged that RCC authority ignored internal inquiries over various complaints. It is learnt that no action was taken over a sexual harassment complaint filed by a female employee in the radiotherapy department against her colleague.
