Kasaragod: A woman tragically lost her life after her shawl became entangled in a grinder while she was grinding rice for dinner. The victim, Nafeesa (58), was a resident of Kumbla in Kasaragod.

The incident occurred on Monday evening in the kitchen of her home. According to neighbours, Nafeesa was unable to reach the switch to turn off the grinder after her shawl got caught in it. Her husband, Ismail, who was also at home, heard her cries and immediately switched off the grinder upon realising the situation.

Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion and found Nafeesa trapped in the grinder. Despite being taken to District Cooperative Hospital in Kumbla, she was pronounced dead.

After a medical examination at Kasaragod General Hospital, Nafeesa was laid to rest in Kumbla.
