Govt sanctions Rs 25 cr to KSRTC for salary distribution

Responding to the complaints of the KSRTC staff over salary delay, the government promised that salary will be distributed within January 5.

Thiruvananthapuram: Giving relief to KSRTC which is facing financial crisis, the state government sanctioned Rs 25 crore to distribute the salary of KSRTC staff in the month of December. At first, the government will grant Rs 20 crore as monthly aid to KSRTC.

According to reports, the government will transfer the fund to KSRTC account on Friday. Considering the financial crisis of the corporation, the government decided to grant an extra aid of Rs 5 crore apart from the Rs 20 crore. Action has been taken to complete the procedures related to the fund sanction.

Responding to the complaints of the KSRTC staff over salary delay, the government promised that salary will be distributed within January 5.

In order to meet the financial crisis, KSRTC requested government to sanction Rs 60 crore. The corporation needs Rs 63 crore to complete the salary distribution. Apart from the aid from government, KSRTC reserved about Rs 25 crore from its monthly revenue. If the payment to fuel companies is delayed, an additional amount of Rs 12 crore can be raised.

Revenue from January 1, 2019 will be reserved for salary distribution. Though January 5 falls on Sunday, the management has planned to carry out salary distribution on the day itself. KSRTC informed that salary will be transferred to the bank account of the staff through online banking.
