Thiruvananthapuram: As part of efforts to resolve the ongoing tussle between senior IAS officers in the state, a notice has been issued to N Prasanth, directing him to appear in person before the Chief Secretary next week. The direct hearing is being conducted in the light of allegations and counter-allegations involving senior IAS officers.
Prasanth was suspended in November last year following a direct confrontation with senior IAS officers G Gopalakrishnan and A Jayathilak. Subsequent actions were taken against both Gopalakrishnan and Prasanth. However, the action against Gopalakrishnan was later withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Prasanth continued to engage in verbal spats through social media, even targeting the Chief Secretary. It is reported that the Chief Minister has intervened in the matter in an attempt to bring the ongoing conflict at the administrative level to an end. The intention now is to hear directly from Prasanth regarding the issue.
The Chief Secretary will personally listen to Prasanth’s version of events. Prasanth had made serious remarks against Jayathilak on social media, and this continued even after his suspension. He had also alleged that Jayathilak, in collusion with the media, had orchestrated actions against him.
