Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has sanctioned ₹1,095 crore for the disbursal of July's social security and welfare pensions, with payments to more than 51 lakh beneficiaries scheduled to begin on Friday.
The amount will be disbursed to beneficiaries of various pension schemes, including the old-age pension, disability pension and widow pension, according to a government order issued on Thursday.
The order directs officials to complete the distribution by August 3, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive this month's pension within the stipulated timeframe.
The monthly social security pension is one of Kerala's welfare programmes, providing financial assistance to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, widows and other eligible groups across the state.
The government has not announced any change in the pension amount or eligibility criteria. Beneficiaries will receive the payment through the existing disbursal mechanism, including bank transfers.
