The lookout notice has been issued as part of the procedure to repatriate Faisal Fareed to India.

Kochi: Interpol has issued a lookout notice against Faisal Fareed, who has been absconding in connection with Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case. The action was taken following the request from India. Earlier, India had cancelled Faisal’s passport.

The lookout notice has been issued as part of the procedure to repatriate Faisal Fareed to India.

Faisal is the third accused in the gold smuggling case registered by NIA. NIA and customs department found out that Faisal coordinated all smuggling activities centred in foreign countries.

Meanwhile, Faisal had responded that he had nothing to do with the case although he admitted that it was his photos that were being circulated.

Faisal Fareed has to be interrogated to bring out the details regarding the terrorist links to the case. Earlier, a blue corner notice was issued against him.
