Kochi: It is reported that Faisal Fareed, third accused in the gold smuggling case, had funded four Malayalam movies. This includes a movie of a senior director and that of a new gen director. NIA has collected information from them.

It is further reported that though he funded the movies, he never intervened in the making process. The money was handed over through a friend. He had mostly spoken about the shares if the movie becomes successful.

NIA is awaiting the transfer of Faisal, who is now under the custody of Dubai police. Primary interrogation has been completed in Dubai.
