Kozhikode: The GST intelligence department seized unaccounted gold worth Rs 30 crore from a wholesale shop here in the city during a raid on Friday.

The officials also imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore on the shop.

The GST intelligence seized gold that was to be sold without paying GST. The department is investigating the details of the total gold purchased by the shop and to whom they sold it.

The GST intelligence officials held the raid following complaints of large scale gold sales in shops in the city avoiding GST.
