Kottakal: In a shocking revelation, a plus-two girl who was sexually assaulted by her neighbour, gave birth to a child on October 20 at her home, without any professional help.

Later, the police arrested the neighbour.

The incident took place at Kottakal in Malapuram district. It came to light after the girl was admitted to the hospital three days after she delivered the child. It is reported that she self-medicated and conducted the delivery herself after watching youtube videos that described the procedures.

The hospital authorities stated that the condition of the mother and the child is stable.
