Thodupuzha: A Palakkad resident who was admitted for food poisoning died today. The deceased was identified as Nikhitha N, a resident of Amabalapara near Ottappalam. 

According to primary reports, she had contracted food poisoning after consuming prawns. Following the uneasiness, she was admitted to the hospital on Saturday.

Though hospital authorities claim that the death was reported due to internal organ failure followed by a heart attack, family members and relatives are not convinced. 

They allege medical negligence as the reason behind the death of Nikhitha.  Police have started an investigation into this matter and are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death.
