Kozhikode: Using communalism to create rift among the people does not suit progressive organisations, said Geevarghese Mor Coorilose, Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church.
Taking to Facebook, Geevarghese Mor Coorilose said that criticising that Muslim League was a communal outfit was not right. Such allegations will create communal rift in the society.
Elections will come and go. Some will win while some will lose. But using communalism to create rift among the people does not suit progressive organisations. No matter what anyone says, calling Muslim League a communal outfit is not right. Moreover, such allegations will create an unhealthy communal rift in the society. Attacking the Muslim League, which has upheld secular policies even in dangerous situations, in such a way and creating an illusion that there is dissent between Christian and Muslim communities will hurt secular Kerala, he said.
Geevarghese Mor Coorilose’s Facebook post is regarded as indirect criticism against CPI (M) state secretary A. Vijayaraghavan.
