Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced on Saturday that the fourth phase of Infopark Kochi—being developed on a “mixed township” model—will create approximately 50,000 jobs and pull in direct investment of around ₹3,000 crore.

In a Facebook post, the CM said his government has allocated 33.5 acres of land from Traco Cable Company Ltd in Irumpanam (Ernakulam district) to Infopark for a sum of ₹200 crore. He described the location as “strategic,” citing access to the existing IT infrastructure, Kochi Metro, Water Metro, the seaport, the airport and the four‑lane highway.

Summarising the vision for phase IV, Vijayan said:

“This world‑class IT township will play a crucial role in further strengthening Kochi's position as the industrial capital of Kerala. … It is estimated that this will add 50 lakh sq ft of new IT space, create 50,000 direct IT jobs and attract direct investment of Rs 3,000 crore.”

He added that the land transfer is part of the government’s push to make Kochi a hub for Artificial Intelligence‑enabled centres, global capability centres and next‑generation IT campuses.
