Babu M. Palissery | Mathrubhumi
Kunnamkulam: Former MLA and CPM leader Babu M. Palissery passed away on Tuesday. He had been undergoing treatment for an illness. He was 67.
A native of Kadavallur in Kunnamkulam, Palissery was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2006 and 2011.
He had been on a ventilator at Kunnamkulam Unity Hospital for the past two days due to deteriorating health.
Palissery entered public life in 1980 as the first unit president of the DYFI. He became a full-time political worker in 1986 and joined the CPM in 1984. During his career, he served as DYFI Thrissur District Secretary, a member of the state executive, CPM Kunnamkulam area secretary, and a member of the district secretariat.
He is survived by his wife, Indira, and children Aswathi Palissery and Akhil Palissery. His last rites were performed on Wednesday.
