Poinachi: A five-year-old boy, who was diagnosed with cancer six months ago, needs the help of benevolent souls to meet his treatment expenses. Alan is currently undergoing treatment at Aster Medicity hospital Ernakulam after being first treated at Thalassery Cancer Centre and then at the Kottayam Medical College.

As the disease has affected the functioning of his liver, the doctors have suggested an immediate surgery. Rs 25 lakh is required for this including related expenses and further treatment. Alan is the son of freelance photographer P.P Dipesh and Soumya. The family are not in a position to bear Alan’s medical expenses. Due to Alan’s ongoing treatment, Dipesh is not able to take up any assignments resulting in a suspension of his income.

Apart from the help of locals and relatives, the treatment has been covered by borrowing huge amounts of money. The locals have formed a committee to help the bereaved family who are unable to fund further medical expenses themselves.
