Five fishermen from Chellanam Mini Fishing Harbour have gone missing, prompting a search operation by the Coast Guard and Navy. They were later located.

Kochi: The five fishermen who went missing while fishing from Chellanam have been found. They were brought back to shore on a boat sent for the rescue operation led by the fishermen themselves.
The fishermen reported that their boat had gotten stranded due to an engine failure. The incident involved the boat Emmanuel (KL 03 4798).
The fishermen had set out to sea at 4 am on Friday and were expected to return by 9 am, but when they did not return by night, the Coast Guard and Navy launched a search operation.
Those on the boat were Shebin, Panchi, Kunjumon, Prince and Antappan, all residents of Kandakadav in Chellanam.
