The swearing-in ceremony for the Chief Minister and ministers is scheduled on Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: The first session of the 16th Kerala Assembly will convene on May 21, when newly elected members will take oath of office. The election for the Speaker will be held on May 22, while the Governor’s policy address is scheduled for May 29.
Although the Congress secured a massive victory in the Assembly elections, it took considerable time to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate.
It was only yesterday — the 11th day after the election results were declared — that the party high command named V D Satheesan as the Congress Legislature Party leader.
Satheesan met Rajendra Arlekar yesterday itself to stake claim to form the government. The swearing-in ceremony for the Chief Minister and ministers is scheduled on Monday.
