Kochi: Three people were injured when a fire broke out in a building inside the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) park here on Saturday, police said. The fire was reported in the building of Geo Infotech located behind a hotel opposite the Infopark police station. 

The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, they said. 

More than 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze which broke out around 6:30 pm. It gutted three storeys (lower part) of the building. 

According to reports, only four employees were present during the incident. They escaped from the scene soon. However, there was confusion about whether anyone was trapped inside. The firefighters examined the building and confirmed that there are no casualties. The injured include three firefighters.  Their conditions are not critical. 

Computers and office items were reportedly gutted. 

The fire broke out on the building's first and second floors, the police said. The region was engulfed in smoke.
