
Chathannur (Kollam): Counterfeit notes and printer were seized from the house of the couple who were arrested in connection with Palakkad counterfeit notes case the other day. Police raided Kottiyam native Ranjith’s house at Chathannur on Tuesday.
Police seized 53 notes of Rs 500 and 122 notes of Rs 200 during the raid. Machines used for printing these fake notes have also been captured.
It was only the other day that Ranjith and his wife Lija were taken to custody by police with fake notes.

The couple were handed over to the police by the locals after they tried to cheat the shopkeepers in Mankara by giving fake notes. They were arrested after police came to the spot and checked the authenticity of these notes.
Later, they were taken to the court and remanded. Police said that they used fake notes to cheat people in the neighbouring districts as well. Mangara SI NK Prakash will be investigating the case.
